God is truth
09.16.03 (4:01 pm) [edit]
Gandhi believed that truth was God. I do not agree with that. How can truth be God? How would we justify our moral truths if there is no basis? God is the basis for our morals. Therefore God is truth not truth is God. If truth was God people could justify everything they do by saying it is their truth so it is right. But when God is the truth we actually have to follow a set system of morals.

Christians and Church Attendence
09.11.03 (7:06 pm) [edit]
I recently got a tape from a revernd in tennesse on a sermon he spoke awhile ago. It was about christians and how they need to go to church. I believe along with this revernd that church is very important. Jesus emphasized this fact while he was on earth. Jesus wanted christians to have fellowship so they could build eachother up. Without that fellowship how do christians learn and keep encouraged? Not only is church supposed to be a benefit to yourself, but it is also a place where you should serve others. Jesus spent his last day among his followers eating and drinking with them. He wanted them to celebrate him together. So I believe that as christians we should be celebrating jesus together, serving eachother, encouraging eachother, and learning togther. Church is an integril part of a christians life. Jesus showed that and we should follow what he did and what the bible teaches.

Societies obsessions
09.11.03 (4:47 pm) [edit]
Society has many obsessions. One that really makes me mad is the one that everyone has their own truths. Ok if everyone has their own truths how can they all be true? They can't. Everyone cannot be right at once. Another obsession is that everything is relative. If that is true then that means no morals that we have now are truly morals. That means that hitler was not wrong in what he did at all. People, realize that relativism leads you no where and that it just destroys what you are actually trying to protect.

Where I would be without God?
09.10.03 (4:15 pm) [edit]
God is such a huge part of my life. I cannot imagine where I would be without God. When I did not know God I hated myself. I thought I wasent good enough so why try anything? I love God so much and want to live for him everyday. Even though I am not perfect God still excepts me. Where would I be without God?

September 11th
09.10.03 (4:05 pm) [edit]
Tommorow it will have been two years since sept11th. Many families will be grieving for their loved ones. America will be on guard. It will be a tough day tommorow. But you know what is going to make it even more tough? Two things will. Bushs' recent asking for money and the suing that is going on. Now im not saying that the people who are suing are right or that they are wrong. But I think that they should have at the least started the suing process earlier or later then this week, so that they would not have to deal with it on the anniversary of the day it happend.

Time for another movie review! This week About Schmidt!
09.08.03 (7:39 pm) [edit]
Oops I hope I did not spell that wrong. Well anyways onto to the review. I found this movie to be delightfully interesting. While it was interesting it was also a bit predictable after a little while. The movie was starring Jack Nicholson. He did a very good job in playing the part of an old disillusioned man. He was about the only good actor in this movie however. I give this movie a 2.5/5 If you really like Jack Nicholson go and check this movie out. If not I wouldent recommend it.

Bush ....Oh the fun he is creating!
09.08.03 (7:28 pm) [edit]
Well it seems that bush wants money eh? How much? Well lets go look at the article. Oh yeah thats right $87BILLION!!!! How does bush expect do get that much money? Where is it going to come from? The U.S has already spent billions on the war on iraq. Why would the U.S ask for more? Where do they get the nerve? So many people in the U.S barley even can afford too live and he is asking for money so he can protect his people? Kind of a double sword huh? If bush does get that money the U.S will go into a economical collapse. If he doesnt get the money then there is chance of attack. Great job bush has done here. So we all know chances are that bush will get the money. So that means the U.S is looking like rough sailings from here on in. Oh and also I hope the U.S doesnt go so far as to ask other nations for money. The rest of the world is pretty much in bad shape economically anyway. We don't need bush to push us in further. Especially here in canada where were not treated the best even though the U.S asks for our produce and jips us on the payment.

Miami Women Brutally arrested,Then awarded more then 200,000
09.06.03 (2:17 pm) [edit]
It seems that a women in miami was honking her car horn and a policeman decided to misuse his power. He put handcuffs on the women and slammed her head on the trunk. She went to court and was awarded 225,000 less then half of what her lawyer wanted. The cop retired after the lawsuit was made. Here is a statement from a jury member taken from the website I found this story on.
"It was very easy to tell that this was a typical case of someone who wanted to exercise excessive power just because he carried a badge," juror Olga Corpion said. "This should not happen again."

North Korea and the danger they pose
09.05.03 (7:01 pm) [edit]
North Korea has weapons. Big weapons. And what threat do they post to us? Are they just kidding? Colin Powell said. The U.S is slow to the punch. Will that prove to be a huge mistake? I think it might. The U.S has spent way to much time on the war in iraq and not enough time on other things such as their deficite and North Korea. While I realize that I do not live in the U.S I also realize that they pretty much rule. And I think that we should all have a say in what other nations do in situations like these. Especially the U.S who has been known to start wars with no good reason.

Politician standing up for his stance on marriage
09.05.03 (6:45 pm) [edit]
Not often in the last little while have I come across a politician who will stand up for what he believes. I got home today and picked up the local newspaper. Suprise! I found an opinion piece by Chilliwack MP Chuck Straul. He wrote a article on his belief that marriage is between one man and one women. He also put some good tidbits of info in his article about the priminister and his lack of thought to the issue. This article is a theprogress.com. Click on opinion and scroll down a little bit,you will find it easily. The article name is [u]Grande seduction by the gay lobby.[/u]Anyways I just wanted to say in closing it is about time a politician stand up for his beliefs' and is truly honest and clear about them.

North Korea s' Weapons of Mass Destruction
09.04.03 (4:45 pm) [edit]
So the U.S went into iraq because of the whole WMD deal right? Well so they say. Anyways if the U.S do not want anyone to have WMD S' but themselves why are they ignoring the fact that North Korea has them? PLUS North Korea is threatining to test them soon. On CNN.com Colin Powell secretary of state made this statement: "That's what they said," Powell said. "I don't know if it was a promise or just a statement." Ahem. The iraq s' werent even threatining as much as North Korea is now were they? So why are they so lieniant towards the North Korean s' but still crazy about the iraq s'? It sure is a crazy world we live in. Well more particularly the Americans make it that way alot of the time.

Troops in the U.S
09.04.03 (4:30 pm) [edit]
I recently read an article in TIME and it was talking about the possibility that the U.S had underestimated the situation in iraq. Well no kidding!!!!! The U.S DID underestimate the trouble in iraq. They thought that after they had gone in,blown up stuff and got rid of some people that everything would be ok. Yeah I just love their plan. I am not even sure that I agree with the fact that they went into iraq in the first place. The U.S has made blunders. I wish I could get over these blunders but when they continue to make the same blunders over and over again I lose hope. I think that the U.S should get their troops out of iraq. I agree with trying to keep the peace but obviosly the U.S isent doing much of that.

Catch me if you can
09.02.03 (12:04 pm) [edit]
This movie stars:Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks. This is a movie about a teen who becomes a con-artist.(or something like one) Frank(the teen) beginds with just forging checks. At first he is pretty bad at it. Soon though he is making checks that are impossible to tell the difference. The government eventually finds out that frank is not only forging checks but identities as well and starts to go after him. This movie had a good plot and very good actors. At times it was hard to follow but it was worth it. I give it a 4/5 for originality and quality.
